WHY AND WHAT IS BYGONE NFT?
MISSION: Establish NFT utility in the fields of historical restoration, preservation, authentication and presentation.
ABSTRACT: Encryption makes digital authenticity possible. Blockchain makes encryption accessible in more ways to more people than ever. For example, Crypto are fungible currency tokens made with blockchain encryption. NFTs are non-fungible tokens made with blockchain encryption. Fungible means exchangeable like one dollar for another dollar. Non-fungible means one of a kind like an oil painting or rare wine.
Many people are finding creative and important utility in NFT technology. Bygone NFT is establishing NFT and Smart Contract utility for historical projects in the following ways:
That’s one way to look at it but it only scratches the surface. It will be enough for some people to get involved though, which is cool. Baby steps. To those people, take your time, I know this crypto/NFT stuff is confusing right now but keep reading. You’ll wrap your head around it sooner than you think. And if you’re like me, you’ll start brainstorming your own NFT project ideas.
Think of it as a digital Certificate of Authenticity or just artwork that is authorized to use a historical brand and intellectual property (IP).
This will help ensure that authentic digital versions of historical property, authorized by the physical property’s owner or caretaker, are preserved forever. These digital copies (think metaverse) may outlast the original physical property. So it is vital that we establish authentic digital versions now so future generations can explore them even if time washes them away from earth.
Imagine if we had authenticated digital versions of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Imagine if we could explore them in Minecraft or some other metaverse and know it is exactly as it looked. We can’t do that. But we can begin the work of authenticating digital versions of our world as it is now. Bygone NFT is starting with our history. And, like the Seven Wonders, there is no guarantee our world as it is now will last.
Provide a more interactive way for people all around the world to participate in (and own a piece of) historical physical property restoration, preservation and presentation projects anywhere else in the world.
The NFT holders will have exclusive access to the property and projects. They will receive airdrops of digital files and access exclusive members only digital and physical events and spaces. Some properties will have actual physical artifacts that can be mailed to the NFT purchaser.
The metaverse will not just be for gamers and social media hangouts. Bygone NFT will be working on ways to allow visitors to the physical properties to experience both the physical space and “meta” space simultaneously. This may be done with QR codes or special VR glasses or some tech we haven’t created yet. The NFT will make any and all of it possible.
Remember I said one of my passions is filmmaking? Well, really it’s storytelling with film, music, etc. and thats what history is. Bygone NFT is creating a new interactive storytelling method that incorporates film and NFTs. I’ll explain more about this later.
